Please Note: Oregon
weather is variable and can change very quickly; in order to guarantee your
comfort, it is necessary to prepare for a wide range of weather conditions.
Long underwear, (wool or polypropylene) does not take up much space and is
effective insulation in wet or dry conditions. Fleece outerwear is popular with
our guiding staff as insurance against the cold. Remember that cotton
is not effective in keeping you warm and actually makes you cold when it gets
wet. Please call the day before your trip for an updated weather
report. |
Trip Itinerary |
|
Generally, we meet at 8:00 AM
or pick up in town at 7:30 AM. The staging area for the trip is our office at
325 Galice Road in Merlin, Oregon. Your first meal on the trip will be lunch,
so plan appropriately. You will be loaned a dry bag for your belongings (PACK
TIGHTLY). Waterproof bags are available at our office the day before the trip
for your convenience. Soft duffle bags are convenient for packing your
belongings; the duffles can be slipped in and out of the waterproof bags with
ease. Hard suitcases do not work as they will not fit into the bags. Everyone
will be fitted with a life jacket before we leave our headquarters; Make sure
you keep it with you!
Transportation is provided
round trip from our office. You can plan to park your car in our parking lot
while on the trip. At the end of the trip, our shuttle bus will return you to
the office by 5:00 or 6:00 PM (earlier take-out times must be arranged in
advance.) Car shuttles are available to have your car brought to the Agness
area (additional fee). We recommend shuttling your car if you plan to visit the
Oregon Coast after your trip on the river. You are welcome to bring a camera
and/or a camcorder. We recommend you purchase a waterproof bag or case for your
camera or camcorder. Rogue Wilderness will assume no responsibility for the
loss or damage of your camera, camcorder, or your prescription glasses.
