Please Note: Oregon
weather is variable and can change very quickly; in order to guarantee your
comfort, it is necessary to prepare for a wide range of weather conditions.
Long underwear, (wool or polypropylene) does not take up much space and is
effective insulation in wet or dry conditions. Fleece outerwear is popular with
our guiding staff as insurance against the cold. Remember that cotton
is not effective in keeping you warm and actually makes you cold when it gets
wet. Please call the day before your trip for an updated weather
report. |
Trip Itinerary |
|
Generally we meet at 4:00 pm.
The staging area for the trip is our office in Merlin, Oregon. Beverages
provided are: ice tea, lemonade, ice water. Everyone will be fitted with a life
jacket before we leave our headquarters; Make sure you keep it with you! There
will be a communal "dry bag" on the raft for your personal items. Over
the years, we have found that it is most convenient for our customers to leave
their cars at the take out point. That way you are on your own time schedule
and not ours. After checking in and getting fitted for a life jacket, we will
caravan your cars to our take out point; you'll then get in our shuttle van for
transport to the put in at Robertson Bridge boat ramp. You will drift quietly
downriver through magnificient Hellgate Canyon and beyond to our destination.
You'll return to your vehicle between 7:00 and 7:30 PM.. You are
welcome to bring a camera and/or a camcorder. We recommend that you purchase a
waterproof bag or case for your camera or video recorder. Rogue Wilderness
Adventures will assume no responsibility for the loss or damage of your camera,
camcorder, or your prescription glasses. |
